STATEMENT OF PERSPECTIVE: Our progress through evolution and history at the present time has been compared with the passage of a watercraft through the foaming, boiling waters of a canyon. Rocks and boulders, partly visible and partly submerged, produce dangerous whirlpools and call for the utmost skill and vigilance of the pilot. -- I see the rocks as dogmas, the whirlpools as illusions, and humankind in desperate need of capable pilots.
The aim of the present periodical is the search for, and the promotion of, work by persons with the gift to lead our species to a higher stage of mental maturity without destroying the core and content of our humanity.
We have to learn to navigate between destructive cynicism and the determination of our decisions by belief in the impossible and illogical. We have to learn to become responsible realists without forgetting that reverence for humankind's inner wealth is needed for our survival as much as air and water.

SELECTION POLICY
Readers are encouraged to recommend or send material promising to lead our species toward a more advanced mental outlook.
Quotes, excerpts, reviews, and short original contributions from all disciplines, published or unpublished, fiction or non-fiction, ancient or recent, by well-known persons or unknown ones, and from every part of our globe will be considered, as long as they promote responsible, future-oriented thinking.
An exception will be made for material recommending reliance on supernatural powers. First, an enormous literature in that area already exists. Second, dependence on extra-human superior knowledge will prevent us from recognizing our own responsibility and may lead to decisions and actions directly contrary to the welfare of our earth and our descendants. -- Neither will callous cynicism be promoted, that cuts and damages what must remain sacred.
To find a safe path into a promising future, we need the light of a profound realism, a view of the world which includes the inner experiences that make us human.
